1. Sulfuric acid production: Pyrite is an important raw material for producing sulfuric acid. It is burned to generate sulfur dioxide, which is then further converted into sulfuric acid.

2. Metallurgical industry: High-quality pyrite can be used as an additive and slagging material in the special steel smelting process. For example, in the smelting of free-cutting steel, it can help adjust the properties of the steel.

3. Brake pad manufacturing: In the brake pad industry, iron sulfide (usually referring to the product obtained from treated pyrite) is widely used as a functional filler. Among them, iron sulfide micro-powder can be used to adjust the friction performance of brake pads, improving their wear resistance, high-temperature resistance, and enhancing braking stability. This is because iron sulfide has good friction coefficient stability at high temperatures, effectively reducing thermal fade during braking.

Specifically, in brake pads, iron sulfide can be used as a reinforcing and filling material to optimize the formulation of the friction material in brake pads. By using appropriate particle size and ratios, it can ensure that brake pads provide stable friction performance under various working conditions and effectively dissipate heat during braking to prevent brake failure caused by overheating.
