Preparation and Mechanical Properties of Wollastonite Filled Nylon 1010 Composites
07 Nov,2023
Nylon (PA) 1010 is an engineering plastic independently developed in our country, which has many excellent properties and is widely used. As a structural material, PA1010 has higher requirements for its strength, wear resistance, and other aspects. Wollastonite, as a widely sourced inorganic silicate mineral material, has low water absorption, high rigidity, good chemical and thermal stability, is non-toxic, and is inexpensive and readily available, showing great potential for development in reinforced filler material applications. To improve the strength and modulus of PA1010, thereby expanding its application fields and reducing material costs, the author prepared PA1010/wollastonite composites through melt blending based on the surface modification of needle-like wollastonite, and explored the effect of wollastonite filler content on the mechanical properties of the composites.

Wollastonite-starch composite system applied to the surface sizing of corrugated base paper
The main research focuses on the application of a talc-starch composite system in the surface sizing of corrugated base paper. Talc is used to replace a certain proportion of surface sizing starch for the surface sizing of corrugated base paper. The results show that under the conditions of 10% talc, 75% surface sizing starch, and 15% fixed starch substitute (all based on the total surface sizing agent), after sizing (sizing amount 6g/n12), the transverse ring crush index of the corrugated base paper reached 5.30 N-m/g, the longitudinal ring crush index reached 7.55 N-m/g; the transverse tensile index reached 46.2 N-m/g, and the longitudinal tensile index reached 95.9 N-m/g; the transverse folding endurance reached 11 times, and the longitudinal folding endurance reached 35 times.
The effect of fibrous wollastonite on the performance of lost foam coatings.
By testing the process performance and working performance of the lost foam coating, the influence of fibrous wollastonite on the performance of the lost foam coating was studied. The results show that fibrous wollastonite can improve the process performance of the lost foam coating, such as suspension, thixotropy, and coating adhesion, as well as enhance the working performance of the coating, including drying crack resistance, bending strength at room temperature and high temperature, and permeability at room temperature and high temperature. Lost foam casting is an advanced manufacturing technology, and the coating technology, as one of the key technologies, is an important factor restricting its development and promotion.
Wollastonite-filled bismaleimide/aluminum sliding pair wear performance
The sliding friction and wear performance of bis-maleimide composites filled with different amounts and particle sizes of wollastonite against hard aluminum was studied on a friction and wear testing machine. The mechanism by which wollastonite regulates the frictional properties of bis-maleimide was explored using scanning electron microscopy analysis.
Research on the process of preparing wollastonite powder by sol-gel method
Using tetraethyl orthosilicate (TEOS) and calcium acetate as raw materials, CaO-SiO2 dry gel powder was prepared by the sol-gel method. After heat treatment at 1000°C, wollastonite powder with a particle size of 0.2 to 1.4 μm was obtained from this initial material.
