zambia Alumina

Alumina powder appears as a white powder with a uniform particle size, low water retention, and stable performance. It has a low bulk density and is stable at room temperature, decomposing and dehydrating upon heating to form alumina. Unlike other flame retardant materials, this product does not produce corrosive gases during pyrolysis, and it absorbs heat and releases water vapor during pyrolysis, giving the product flame-retardant and self-extinguishing properties. Therefore, adding this product to plastics, rubber, and other composite materials imparts flame retardancy and smoke suppression, as well as resistance to electrical leakage and electric arc.

Product Description

Alumina powder appears as a white powder with uniform particle size, low water retention, and stable performance. It has a low bulk density, is stable at room temperature, and decomposes upon heating to form alumina. Unlike other flame retardant materials, it does not produce corrosive gases during pyrolysis, and it absorbs heat and releases water vapor during pyrolysis, giving the product flame-retardant self-extinguishing properties. Therefore, adding this product to plastics, rubber, and other composite materials imparts flame retardancy and smoke suppression, as well as resistance to electric leakage and electric arc. It is used as a flame retardant additive for flammable materials such as aluminum compounds, plastics, and rubber, as well as in papermaking, surface pigments, coatings, toothpaste bases, catalyst carriers, water purifiers, desiccants, and molecular sieves. It serves as a raw material for high-alumina refractory materials, ceramic devices, automotive spark plugs, and polishing and grinding products, and is a fundamental material for aluminum-based amorphous refractory materials, acting as a filler for the performance of refractory products.

Properties: A white solid that is insoluble in water, odorless, tasteless, extremely hard, and easily absorbs moisture without deliquescing (not hygroscopic when calcined). Alumina is a typical amphoteric oxide (corundum is α-form belonging to hexagonal close packing, is an inert compound, and is slightly soluble in acids and resistant to corrosion), soluble in inorganic acids and alkaline solutions, and almost insoluble in water and non-polar organic solvents; relative density (d204) is 4.0; melting point is 2050°C. Storage: Store in a sealed and dry environment. Uses: Used as an analytical reagent, dehydrating agent for organic solvents, adsorbent, organic reaction catalyst, grinding agent, polishing agent, raw material for aluminum smelting, and refractory materials.
