Modified wollastonite refers to a functional filler material obtained by surface treatment of natural wollastonite through physical or chemical methods. Wollastonite (CaSiO3) is a chain-structured silicate mineral with excellent thermal stability, chemical stability, high aspect ratio, low oil absorption, electrical insulation, and relatively high mechanical strength.
Calcite has the chemical formula CaCO₃ and is a common carbonate mineral that belongs to the trigonal crystal system. It has good birefringence and colorful optical properties. It is one of the most common minerals on Earth, primarily formed by sedimentary processes, and is also found in many biological organisms (such as shells and coral reefs). Calcite crystals come in various shapes, typically appearing as rhombohedra, with colors ranging from colorless and transparent to milky white, sometimes exhibiting various hues.
Ground calcium carbonate is an important inorganic filler and functional additive, with the chemical formula CaCO₃. It is mainly sourced from natural minerals such as limestone and marble, obtained through physical crushing and classification processes. It has a high density and low specific surface area, a wide particle size distribution, high purity, a bright white color, as well as good chemical stability and thermal stability.
Baryte is a natural mineral primarily composed of barium sulfate (BaSO₄), known for its high density, stability, and heat resistance. In industry, especially in the automotive parts manufacturing sector, baryte is widely used as a filler in brake pads.
