The friction modifier is an additive designed to enhance the friction performance of material surfaces, and it has a wide range of applications in various industrial fields, especially as a key component of brake pads in braking systems.
Magnesium oxide (MgO) is an important inorganic compound, a white powdery solid with a very high melting point (about 2852°C). It has stable chemical properties, is heat-resistant, fire-resistant, and corrosion-resistant, while also possessing good electrical insulation and a certain level of alkalinity. In the field of brake pad manufacturing, magnesium oxide plays an important role.
Alumina powder appears as a white powder with a uniform particle size, low water retention, and stable performance. It has a low bulk density and is stable at room temperature, decomposing and dehydrating upon heating to form alumina. Unlike other flame retardant materials, this product does not produce corrosive gases during pyrolysis, and it absorbs heat and releases water vapor during pyrolysis, giving the product flame-retardant and self-extinguishing properties. Therefore, adding this product to plastics, rubber, and other composite materials imparts flame retardancy and smoke suppression, as well as resistance to electrical leakage and electric arc.
Iron red, scientifically known as iron oxide red (Fe₂O₃), is a common inorganic compound that typically appears as a bright red powder and is considered a high-quality inorganic pigment. It has various industrial applications, particularly in the manufacturing of automotive brake pads.
